Clear Spring Fire Rescue has Improved to an ISO Class 2 Public Protection Classification Rating
On behalf of our Officers and Firefighters, I am proud to announce that Clear Spring Fire Rescue has improved to an ISO Class 2 Public Protection Classification rating.
The ISO rating program evaluates fire service organizations based on a standard set of criteria with nationally recognized standards. This program evaluates and scores a department on categories such as emergency communications, fire department operations, and water supply.
Many insurance companies use ISO’s PPC when calculating residential and business premiums. An improved ISO score can lead to a reduction in insurance premiums for residents and businesses within our community.
Check with your insurance company as this new rating will become effective June 1, 2021.
According to the ISO, the Class 2 designation is shared with approximately 78 other departments in South Carolina and approximately 1,800 departments nationwide. This is a huge achievement for our department and community and reflective of the efforts and support of our staff and newly appointed Board of Fire Commissioners.
Clear Spring Fire Rescue is YOUR fire department, and I am truly proud of our staff who have dedicated a tremendous amount of time and effort to making our community safer. They deeply care about how their work can improve the lives of people in the Clear Spring Fire Rescue District. I consider this new rating as a reflection of their efforts to reduce the impacts of fire by always being prepared to answer the call for service.
Our goal is to provide the highest caliber of fire service to the community that we protect. Even with this improved rating, we will strive to enhance manpower, response, training, equipment, and water supply so we can ultimately reach our end goal of achieving a Class 1 rating.
